Troubleshooting
Below are some common issues that can arise and suggested techniques to fix what is not working.
General
My local display is dark |
The display stays lit for about 10 minutes, then scrolls for a few minutes, then goes dark. Pushing any button (Up, Down, Back, Select) will relight the display. If the display continues to stay dark then check the power connection to the display unit. You should have 24VAC power if you have wired to the two AC terminal blocks, and between 12VDC and 24VDC if you wired DC power to the lower two (+/-) terminal blocks. |
Cannot log in |
Make sure you have a valid email account as a username and are using the correct password. If you are new to Irricloud, make sure that you have gone to your email and clicked the link to verify you control that email account. If you forgot your password or need a new verification link, type your email in the login page and check Reset Password to regenerate a password and get a new verification link. |
Configuration
Cannot see IrricloudAP |
Look at the display and make sure SSID: IrricloudAP is displayed. If it is, disable and re-enable wifi on your phone to refresh networks. If IrricloudAP is not displayed scroll through the menu until you see it. If you do not see IrricloudAP as a menu item, then you are probably in watering mode rather than configuration mode. Select the Reconfigure menu option and wait a couple of minutes while the system restarts in configuration mode. |
Cannot connect to IrricloudAP |
If you see IrricloudAP broadcasting, but cannot connect: 1) Disable and re-enable wifi networks and try to connect again 2) Forget IrricloudAP as a network and try to reconnect Make sure your phone is configured to allow connection to unsecured networks. |
Cannot see configuration page |
Make sure you are (still) connected to the IrricloudAP network. Open a browser (Chrome preferred) and type http://10.0.0.1/ in the address bar and the configuration page should load. |
My Networks SSID is not listed |
If the WiFi SSID that you want to connect to is not listed, you can reload the configuration web page which will let the system rescan for available networks. Otherwise, you can complete WiFi configuration by filling in SSID, Password, Gateway etc for a hidden network. |
I see WiFi configuration with a cellular setup |
The cellular dongle must be connected to the USB port prior to accessing the configuration page. Make sure the dongle is secured, and select Power Cycle as the configuration menu choice. The system will reboot and attempt to initialize using a cellular connection. If the LED on the cellular dongle is not blinking blue or blinking green, then dongle cannot connect to a cellular network and you need to check service availability. |
Operations
System Component Unreachable |
This generally occurs when your Irricloud device cannot reach the internet. If you are at the controller look at the display (any button push will relight the display) and make sure under the Menu is listed a valid IP address (not No IP Settings). If you have a valid IP address the internet may be down and the Irricloud device will continue to try to reconnect with the network using a variety of strategies including an automatic reboot. If you have a cellular dongle, make sure it is blinking blue or green. If you use WiFi to access the internet make sure you have the correct SSID and password. You may need to go back to configuration mode to change network connect strategy. |
Master valve is not running when needed |
Make sure the zones that require the master valve operating have Use Master checked. Make sure the master valve is appropriately defined at the top of the Zones page. If you have a master valve that serves multiple controllers, make sure it has the Global box checked. |
My zone does not water |
Check to see if weather indicates no watering is necessary. Make sure the zone is enabled and part of a program. Check 24VAC power to the zone extender device. Measure AC voltage from one of the first two terminal blocks (labeled 24VAC) to one of the third or fourth terminal blocks (labeled COM). Typically you should see 24V-28V. When the zone is running, you can measure 24VAC between COM and the zone that is enabled. Make sure that Zones All Off IS visible (Options->Administration). If it is not visible, click Zones All On to make it visible and re-enable zone watering. |
I do not see all my zones on the Home page. |
Make the specific zone in question has the Enabled box checked on the Zones Page. |
Cannot add Operator or Administrator |
In order to allow another user to access your system they must have a valid Irricloud account. Make sure you have correctly entered their email address to provide them access. |
Watering times are not as expected |
Make sure the zone runtime for each program is greater than 0. Make sure Scaling (on each program) is big enough to allow watering. If you want weather-based watering make sure that Options->Weather station->Internet weather is checked and that the appropriate zones do NOT have Ignore Weather checked on the Zones Page. Make sure that Options->Weather station-> Maximum % has a big enough value to allow watering. Make sure Options->System->Water Scaling is big enough to allow watering. |
All my zones are running at the same time |
Check the program type for the program of interest. It may be that Fixed Watering is being used when Sequential Watering is desired. |
